The Santa Cruz Scholarship Program was held in DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo Higher Secondary School of Arts, Science & Commerce, Cujira, St. Cruz on 4th April 2024.
The Principal, Ms. Minaxi Mudaliar gave the welcome address. Homage was paid to the Founder, Late Vasantrao Dempo by lighting the traditional lamp and offering floral tribute.
“Students should read textbooks, understand their true passion, achieve their goals and work hard to execute their plan”, said Mr. Shrinivas Dempo, Chairman, Dempo Group of Companies while speaking at a function.
Santa Cruz Scholarships were distributed at the hands of dignitaries. Mr. Dempo also released the annual school magazine ‘Vasant 2024’ in memory of the Founder, Late Vasantrao Dempo. Mr. Dempo also announced that the amount of the scholarships will be doubled from the 25th Year so that more students can avail of the benefits.
The Sarpanch of Santa Cruz, Mrs. Jenifer De Oliveira speaking on the occasion expressed her gratitude to the Dempo family for their involvement in the progress of Santa Cruz.
On the occasion the teachers, Mr. Chetan Kavlekar, Mr. Vishal Bhandari, and Laboratory Assistants, Mr. Siddesh Cundaikar & Mr. Rajesh Korgaonkar were felicitated for their contribution in the field of sports, NCC & Scriptwriting respectively.
The function was also graced by the Administrator, Mr. Rajesh Bhatikar and the PTA President, Mr. Mahesh Revankar.
A vote of thanks was proposed by the Vice – Principal, Mrs. Maya Sardessai.
