On 6th August 2022, DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo HSS of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira holds the Investiture ceremony of the Students’  Council  at  11:00AM in the A.V room. The Chief Guest for the function was Mrs. Karuna Rajan Satardekar, Associate Professor at GVM’s Dr.Dada Vaidya College of Education, Ponda-Goa.

At the outset, a student of Std XII Commerce, Miss Siya Pai sang the Welcome Song. Principal of the institution, Mrs. Surekha Kelkar, welcomed the guest. Mrs. Amelia Barreto, Teacher In-charge of the Students’ Council introduced the Chief Guest to the audience followed by floral welcome. This was followed by the lighting of the traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest , Mrs. Karuna Satardekar,  motivated the students to participate in various school activities and build up the four Cs— Communication, Confidence, Commitment and Care so as to be successful in life.

The investiture ceremony was conducted by Tr. Amelia who introduced  the other teachers in the Students’ Council–

Mrs. Shilpa Silimcan — Commerce stream

Mrs. Prachi Bhat– Science stream

Miss Prajyoti Khorjuvekar– Arts stream.

Subsequently the student-members were also introduced and administered the oath.

The following members were awarded portfolios as follows–

  • Asst. General Secretary – Mast. Mohd. Armaan Sait ( XII Com C)
  • Sports Secretary – Mast. Prajval Patil (XII Sci A)
  • Asst. Sports Secretary – Miss. Lata Gaonkar (XI Com A)
  • Ladies Representative – Miss. Palomi Sapte (XII Sci B)
  • Asst. Ladies Representative – Miss. Shivika Nerurkar (XI Com D)
  • Cultural Secretary – Miss. Tapasya Sharma (XII Arts B)
  • Asst. Cultural Secretary – Mast. Neil Corriera (XII Sci D)
  • Literary Secretary – Miss. Joan Gonsalves (XII Com B)
  • Asst. Literary Secretary – Miss. Pavni Warkar (XI Arts B)

The General Secretary, Ladies Representative, Cultural Secretary, Literary Secretary and Sports Secretary were pinned badges and given sashes bearing the respective designations by the Chief Guest, Principal and the Vice-Principal, Miss Minaxi Mudaliar. This was followed by pinning of designation badges for Class Representatives by Principal and to Assistant Class Representatives by the Vice-Principal.

The newly appointed General Secretary, Ladies Representative, Cultural Secretary, Literary Secretary and Sports Secretary in their speeches promised to be faithful to their duties and the school to the best of their abilities.

Each of the Class Representatives and Assistant Class Representatives were also given badges of their designation respectively, by the Principal and Vice-Principal.

This was followed by the installation of the Youth Red Cross Unit and Red Ribbon Club for the academic year 2022-23. Miss Ananya Apte XII C, Science stream,  volunteer of the YRC Unit, in her speech enlightened the audience of the YRC activities while Mast. Omkar Dhuri, XII B Science stream, spoke about the activities of the Red Ribbon Club.

A Certificate of Appreciation and a memento were given to the Chief Guest by the Principal as a token of love and appreciation.

The programme was attended by students from all the three streams and teachers of the institution .Mrs.Subhada Bandodkar, Teacher In-charge of YRC unit and Red Ribbon Club was also present on the occasion.

The programme was compered by Teacher, Mrs. Prachi Bhat while  Tr.Amelia Barreto proposed the Vote of thanks.
