National Science Day was celebrated with Scientific temper at DCT’s Vasantrao Dempo HSS of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira, St. Cruz on 28th February, 2023.
The Chief Guest and key note speaker was Dr. Mahadev A. Gawas, Assitant Professor at Directorate of Higher Education, Porvorim. The Guest Speaker
spoke on the topic “How Artificial Intelligence is impacting our everyday lives”. He enlightened students on artificial learning deep learning and machine learning and expressed concern on how artificial intelligence may gradually replace human beings. He stressed on how the system understands the interest of the user and recommends them with a set of relevant or similar topics.
Earlier, the Chief Guest, Principal Mrs. Surekha Kelkar, Vice – Principal Ms. Minaxi Mudaliar and other teachers paid floral tributes to the portrait of the legendary scientist, Sir C. V. Raman who discovered the Raman Effect.
Principal, Mrs. Surekha Kelkar gave the welcome address while Senior Science Teacher, Mrs. Harsha Nerurkar introduced the Chief Guest Speaker.
Earlier an Interclass Mathematics quiz was organized by the Physics Department. Teacher. Mr. Prashant Naik was the Quiz Master. The Prizes of the quiz were distributed at the hands of the Principal and Vice Principal.
Students presented power point presentations and also prepared exhibits to mark the occasion.
Teacher Mrs. Siddhi Naik proposed the Vote of Thanks while Teacher Mrs. Priyanka Gaonkar was the comperer.
