The birth anniversary of Dr. S.R.Ranganathan was celebrated on 9th August 2023 by garlanding his photo by Vice Principal Madam Ms.Minaxi Mudaliar.
The National Librarian’s Day was observed on 12th August 2023 in the school library of DCT’S Vasantrao Dempo H.S.S. of Arts, Science and Commerce, Cujira to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr S.R.Rangnathan, who is also known as the father of library Science.
To begin with librarian Mrs. Vidhya Joshi gave a speech on Dr. Ranganathan by highlighting the 5 laws of library Science.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal Mrs. Surekha Kelkar encouraged the students to inculcate reading habits. She gave suggestion on conducting competition for students like writing skills in English language and story telling competition in second languages taught in our school.
The principal gave prizes to 3 students from std. XI Commerce C with best handwriting.
This was followed by the felicitation of librarian Mrs. Vidhya Joshi and Mrs. Sneha Raikar.
The programme was concluded by the inauguration ceremony of the book exhibition by our Principal Mrs. Surekha Kelkar. Books on various subjects as well as novels, autobiographies, poems were put on display.
The programme was largely attended by teachers and all the members of Students council.
In-charges were Librarian Mrs. Vidhya Joshi and Mrs. Sneha Raikar.
